Job description
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Jr. Electrical Engineer to join our growing security systems team, with a focus on protecting our nation’s critical infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with 0 to 5 years of experience in electrical engineering or related technical work to build a long-term future in the high-tech space of electronic security. You will gain practical, hands-on experience working with security systems including access control, video management, biometrics, facial recognition and other technologies. Training and certifications for these technologies will be an integrated part of position benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the fabrication, programming, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of physical security systems such as access control and video management platforms.
- Perform Quality Control (QC) checks on custom-built electronic fabrications to ensure functionality and compliance.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to support system design and implementation. - Document system configurations, QC processes, and diagnostic evaluations thoroughly and accurately.
- Analyze and diagnose hardware/software issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Support the integration of systems with Windows OS and SQL Server databases.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure successful deployments.
- Inspect subcontractor work to ensure systems meet code, compliance standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with electronics, wiring, system integration, or related technical work is a plus.
- Strong interest in physical security systems and technology integration.
- Familiarity with electronics assembly, low-voltage wiring, or control systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring schematics, and fabrication specifications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to meet governmental badging requirements for secure facility access.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
