Birdi Systems Inc has won a prime position on the US Navy’s Seaport Next Generation (Seaport-NxG) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), multiple-award contract (MAC).
The engineering services category covers 12 functional areas, including engineering, system engineering and safety and process engineering support; research and development; and software engineering, development, programming and network support, according to the final request for proposals. The program management category encompasses 11 functional areas, including financial analysis and budget support; quality assurance; and computer systems analysts.
SeaPort-NxG is used for procuring support services in 23 functional areas.
These areas include engineering, financial management, information assurance and information technology (IT), and program management.
The Navy’s Next Generation SeaPort (SeaPort-NxG) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award contract. This contract has a five-year base and five-year option ordering period, with a potential value of $5 billion per year or $50 billion over the 10-year contract life span for all Seaport NxG awardees. Both U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. will procure future engineering and program management support services from the winning pool of contractors. The winning pool was limited to those with successful Navy past performance.
Other functional areas include software development, interoperability, test and evaluation and trials support, financial analysis services support, research and development (R&D), quality assurance, and organizational assessment.
SeaPort-NxG is the US Navy’s electronic platform used to award and manage task orders.
Each MAC has a 2.5-year base period of performance with an additional five-year ordering period option.
SeaPort-NxG provides these support services to the entire spectrum of mission areas and technical capabilities supported by the US Navy.
The multiple-award IDIQ contract has a remaining ceiling value of $7.5bn.
